Sesqui was a nationwide multimedia experience celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary, combining immersive installations, a 360° film, interactive digital experiences, and a VR application. Members of Victory Social Club contributed across the full project lifecycle, from creative direction through production, post-production, design, and technical execution.

Sesqui was a travelling multimedia experience and community hub that brought Canadians together from coast to coast to coast in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation.
The project took many forms, including a cutting-edge 360° film titled Horizon, a large-scale immersive touring experience, a collection of interactive digital experiences housed within a community hub at sesqui.ca, a VR application called Meridian, and an ongoing platform for education, storytelling, and community engagement.
Throughout 2017, Sesqui invited audiences to explore key themes connected to Canada 150, including Indigenous reconciliation, youth, and the environment. The experience encouraged participation in a shared national journey designed to resonate beyond the anniversary year itself.
Members of Victory Social Club were involved in multiple aspects of the project’s development and execution. In addition to contributing as core team members during the initial conception phase, creative direction was led by Mike McDougall and Alex Kurina from 2013 through the project’s completion in 2017. Members of Victory Social Club also carried out production across both traditional and immersive formats, along with post-production, design, branding, and marketing. The design of Sesqui’s interactive mascot, Sesquatch, was led and facilitated by VSC’s Steve Wilson. Post-production support and technical direction were provided throughout the entire production process, supporting both conventional digital broadcast and emerging immersive and VR content.
